Winter Is

January 7th, 2011

Exasperating

Demoralizing

Depressing

Lonely

Slow and unmotivated

Rubbing you nose

Worrying snot is sneaking out.

Winter is for all to see

To see all

Naked and bare

The most genuine of seasons

Death bringing sight

Sight bringing understanding.

Winter is focus

Calm

The cold to sooth

Much anger

Angst

To thought

Purpose

Resolution

Action.

Winter is self-destruction

Surety

Regret

Bitter chill

Warmth passed up

Mentally sought

Physically pinned.

Winter’s polyglot identity

Conceals its true being

Wrapping itself warm

In multiple cloaks

Of fuzzy perceptions.

For if winter died cold

Having fallen the scale

Justice no more

The world would waste,

Awareness lost,

Loosing ecstasy

To self righteousness

Foolhardy—

Summer.
